Prabal Gurung Spring 2011 and Fall 2011 RTW

I was in the library refreshing myself with fashion news while reading WWD, and came across Prabal Gurung. I haven't been doing my best job of keeping up with the fashion industry, but from now on I'll try my best to! LOL, while looking through WWD, I made a list of all of the designers that I want to look into and follow during the next few years. And what do you know, Prabal Gurung is the first one!

I love his color concepts for the first two pieces! The colors just work so well with each other. Come to think of it, I'm planning to use those color combination (orange, turquoise and yellow) as a theme for my dorm room senior year. I liked how he went really extreme with bold vibrant colors, to more subtle, neutral colors in his last few pieces for his Spring RTW. Soft colors such as grey and pale pink are soooo in this spring. I see 'em everywhere I go!
As for his Fall 2011 collection, I love LOVE his designs for dresses. They're original and out of the norm, especially the first dress! Something about it just makes it so captivating.
